Chapter 16: The Times of Refreshing

The Latter Rain and the preparation for the Loud Cry.

Hands-free narration of this study — good for the car.

Synopsis

A. T. Jones explores the 'times of refreshing' mentioned in Acts 3:19, identifying them with the gift of the Latter Rain and the empowerment for the Loud Cry of the third angel's message. This spiritual refreshing is the culmination of the Holy Spirit's work, bestowed upon those whose sins have been blotted out during the final atonement. Far from being a mere emotional high, the refreshing is a divine endowment that enables the people of God to stand firm in the final crisis and to bear a witness of such power that it lightens the whole earth with God's glory. Jones emphasizes that this experience is contingent upon a living connection with our High Priest in the Most Holy Place. It is the final preparation for the translation of the saints, providing the spiritual maturity and power necessary to finish the work of God on earth and welcome the return of the King of kings.
