Synopsis
Daniells describes the loud cry of Revelation 18 as the final proclamation of the everlasting gospel in the power of the Spirit, with righteousness by faith as its content. The work is finished not by better organisation or greater numbers but by Christ fully revealed in and through His people. He argues that the delay is not on God's side, and that the church's business is to remove the obstruction of unbelief and self-righteousness.
Key points
- The loud cry is the third angel's message in power, and its content is Christ our righteousness.
- The earth is lightened with glory — that is, with the revealed character of God.
- Delay is a human, not a divine, problem.
- Finishing the work is a matter of reception before it is a matter of exertion.
