Synopsis
Theoretical knowledge of prophecy is insufficient for the final crisis; we must possess an experiential, living relationship with Christ. Using the parable of the ten virgins, the study contrasts the wise, who had extra oil, with the foolish, whose lamps were burning out. The preparation today involves waking from spiritual lethargy, understanding the evidences of our faith, and fortifying our minds with Bible truths. We must submit our body, soul, and spirit to God’s discipline, and participate in fervent, agonizing prayer. A critical aspect of this preparation is the complete surrender of self, the elimination of all unconfessed sin, and a diligent, Christ-centered work for others while we wait for His return. There is no time to lose; barriers are constantly rising, and we must make the Bible the daily rule of our lives. If we do not learn the lessons of faith now, we will be unprepared when conditions become truly difficult. The call is for a full exchange—trading our filthy rags for Christ's robe of righteousness—and preparing to meet the final conflict with the assurance of victory.
