Chapter 5—The Finishing of God’s Work—The Loud Cry

Synopsis

The Loud Cry represents the glorious finale of the third angel's message, a time when the whole earth is lightened with the glory of God. This is not merely an increase in volume, but an increase in spiritual power and clarity, centered on the message of righteousness by faith. As the world descends into darkness and the enforcement of the mark of the beast begins, God’s people, filled with the latter rain, will fearlessly proclaim the final warning. This message will unmask the sins of Babylon and call every honest soul to take their stand for the commandments of God. The Loud Cry will be accompanied by miracles and a rapid work that penetrates every barrier, reaching rulers and commoners alike. Despite the fierce opposition of the 'confederated powers' of Satan, including the union of papists and apostate Protestants, the message will triumph. The controversy itself serves to advertise the truth, bringing it to the attention of thousands who would otherwise never have heard. This is the time when many backsliders will be reclaimed and the church will stand in perfect unity. Our preparation for this moment is to seek sanctification now, surrendering our talents to Christ and allowing Him to speak through us with the authority of the cross.
