Synopsis
The seven last plagues are the final acts of divine judgment upon the earth, falling after Christ ceases His intercession and the sanctuary service ends. Unlike the calamities of the earlier time of trouble, these plagues are unmixed with mercy, meant to demonstrate the consequences of rejecting God's authority. While their exact details may remain partially mysterious, the study shows they are similar to the plagues of Egypt but more severe and devastating. The plagues are not universal, or the earth would be emptied, and they are expected to be brief, possibly lasting a year. Amidst this turmoil, God's people will be divinely protected as promised in Psalm 91. The sixth and seventh plagues involve the gathering for the final conflict of Armageddon, which pits the three powers—spiritualism, the papacy, and apostate Protestantism—against Christ and His people. The study clarifies that Armageddon is not a geopolitical war but a conflict between these Satanic powers and the truth of God, ending in Christ's victory. As the plagues unfold, the wicked will experience utter despair, ultimately turning on those who deceived them.
