Study 02 of 10

Preparing for the Loud Cry

The loud cry is tied to the latter rain; our preparation involves cleansing the heart and walking in Christ.

Hands-free narration of this study — good for the car.

Synopsis

Continuing the theme of preparation, Prescott emphasizes that the loud cry and the latter rain are inseparable. As the time for the loud cry has come, so too has the time for the latter rain. This work begins with the conviction of sin. We must be ready to say 'yes' to the Spirit, allowing Him to convince us not just of our sin, but ultimately of the righteousness of Christ. This is not a time for delay or indifference; God is in earnest with His people. He calls us to be either cold or hot, to be fully committed. The gold tried in the fire is faith and love, the clothing is the righteousness of Christ, and the anointing is the unction of the Holy Spirit. Those who do not have Jesus living in them will not be part of this closing work.

Key points

  • The loud cry and the latter rain are to go together.
  • God's work in this time is a serious, personal work of preparation.
  • The shaking among God's people will be caused by the preaching of the righteousness of Christ.
  • If we don't respond to the conviction of sin, we will not receive the righteousness of Christ.

Key texts

  • Revelation 18:1
  • Revelation 3:18
  • 2 Peter 1:19
