Study 10 of 19

A Brief History

Historical controversy must be read in the light of the gospel, not party loyalty.

Hands-free narration of this study — good for the car.

Synopsis

In chapter 10, Sequeira examines a brief history within the larger question of Christ’s humanity and the everlasting gospel. To show how the humanity debate shaped the church’s understanding of gospel and mission. It reports that either pre-Fall or post-Fall views could be held within the church. The chapter describes its own period; present policy requires current official sources. It can demand perfect victory from people who lack assurance in Christ. The study invites the reader to test the author’s argument with Scripture and apply it without losing either Christ’s sinlessness or the priority of grace.
